Stunning Welsh tapestry blanket in dark charcoal grey, lighter grey & white. The pattern is a copy of the peony design originally woven by Hannah Jones at Penmachno Mill in the early 1900s. The mill is sadly long gone. Woven by Daniel Harris at Elvet Woollen Mill in Cynwyl Elfed, Carmarthenshire, West Wales. This mill has just been rescued & this is one of the first blankets they made with the beautifully soft wool that the new Weaver Dan inherited with the Mill. Handmade on a heritage weaving loom. It is approximately 90 inches x 70 inches with a fulled twisted fringe to 2 ends & a border down the longer sides. Perfect for a bed or sofa & soft enough to cwtch up in. Would make a wonderful & very traditional Welsh wedding gift.
