Gorgeous vintage 1960s/70s Welsh wool tapestry pea coat in stunning & rare mustard with black & off-white traditional Caernarfonshire portcullis design colourway which is usually reserved for the Welsh blankets. Iconic Welsh style fashion. Lovely piped patch pockets to side. Buttons to front. I'd say this one has been re-lined. Slightly tailored. Good condition. Size I'd say approx size 14/16 as a bit snug on my & I'm a 16/18.
Back in the day there were 300 working woollen mills in Wales & most would have had a shop with a Tailoress who made clothing. They would also sell lengths of the wool fabric to small fashion houses like Mari Lwyd, Dillad Coracle, Celtique & Eclipse. The mills sadly have dwindled to single figures so you would be wearing a bit of Welsh & midcentury fashion
