Gorgeous vintage 1960s/70s Welsh wool tapestry pea coat in stunning charcoal grey, red & black colourway. Iconic Welsh style fashion. Unusual angled collar, slightly tailored, slash angled pockets to side. Buttons to front. Original labels inside (see pics). Great condition. Size I'd say size 16 (it fits me & I'm a 16/18). Measures approx length 30 inches, armpit to armpit 20 inches, shoulder to shoulder 18 inches & arm length 22 inches. (See matching bag available as separate listing).
Back in the day there were 300 working woollen mills in Wales & most would have had a shop with a Tailoress who made clothing. They would also sell lengths of the wool fabric to small fashion houses like Mari Lwyd, Dillad Coracle, Celtique & Eclipse (where this one was made). The mills sadly have dwindled to single figures so you would be wearing a bit of Welsh & midcentury fashion
