A RARE find. Beautiful vintage Welsh wool tapestry blanket in black, red & vibrant yellowy green. This was a signature design woven by Ben Jones at Alltcavan Mill. King size. Measures approx 90 inches x 80 inches. Good condition for age.
Alltcavan Mill (also spelled Allt - y- cafan Mill) was a historic water-powered Welsh woollen mill located in Pentrecwrt, near Llandysul, Wales. Managed by Ben Jones & Son, the mill was a major hub for traditional Welsh textiles before it closed in the 1980s. Situated on the scenic banks of the River Teifi in West Wales, a river famous for historically powering dozens of local wool and textile mills. The mill flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as part of a massive rural industry.
