Now here's a bit of Welsh history! This fabulous antique Welsh tapestry blanket is over 100 years old. With knife edge borders down all four sides running into checkerboard corners. This has been densely woven by hand. Very subtle & unusual greyish blue with brown. All natural dyes! This will have been woven on a single frame by hand. Good condition overall for age. I'd say large double/king. Someone has had a go at redoing the blanket stitch but just to two sides. Likely woven in the Conwy Valley, North Wales.
Traditional Caernarfonshire portcullis design. A thing of beauty & a true statement heritage piece. Don't find them like this very often.
